Are you interested in opening your home to hosting or co-hosting a fundraiser? No need to commit to specifics today, we can work with you!

Matching donations are a key part of our fundraising efforts. By pledging to match donations, such as $100 or even $200, you can double the impact of the funds raised at our fundraising events. Donors are more likely to contribute knowing their donations will be matched.

Here’s the simple process: You commit to a pledge of $100 or more, but you don’t have to pay immediately. During our fundraising events, we’ll promote that a matching donor will double any donations made. If the event raises enough to meet your pledge, we will inform you and provide a link to donate via ActBlue to the candidate, Sister District, or the grassroots organization supported. Alternatively, you can choose to send a check. It’s straightforward and effective!

Sister District CA Pen is famous for our events of all kinds. We believe in working hard while having a good time! Have some fun while you make a difference – Join the Events team! We have a range of activities where you can help out.

  • Plan and organize event logistics
  • Brainstorm event ideas
  • Scout or donate event locations

We’re always looking for friendly people who will welcome arrivals at our events.  This is a great way to get involved and meet new people.

Help us find dynamic speakers and work with our Events Team to organize our speaker events.

We often need volunteers to let us borrow tables, chairs, and canopies for our events. If you have any of these items to share, please let us know! Thanks.

If you are comfortable managing the audio/video technology at events, please let us know! We are always looking for someone to help with Zoom set up, video capture and sometimes Facebook streaming. If you have a particular idea or interest, let us know in the notes.

A gathering becomes a party with food and drink. Help us bring our events to life.

Donate food or drinks, bake treats, donate ice, bring a cooler, bartend, help with set up and cleanup during and after an event.

 

Help us spread the word about Sister District at our table on Saturday mornings at the College of San Mateo Farmers Market! It’s a great way to mix with people in your community and let them know they can make a real difference in this year’s elections.

We need a few more people to round out our social media efforts. We have a strong captain at the helm so you will not be responsible for defining strategy or calendar from scratch. If social media posting interests you, let us know!

Voters who receive handwritten postcards are significantly more likely to vote. Join us in our postcard outreach to voters! Every effort helps. We have a range of important activities you can help us with.

  • Write postcards 
  • Host an in-person postcard writing part
  • Support captains to manage the process 

Calling voters empowers candidate’s campaigns to reach thousands of supporters with one-to-one conversations. These personal contacts can decide who wins an election! Join our team of amazing callers to speak on behalf of our candidates. Especially active months start in May leading up to November.

A grassroots organization is only as strong as its members’ engagement and activity. Having more active members = more power as we work for our candidates. Join the Membership Outreach team to help keep our organization vibrant.

  • Call and email to welcome new members
  • Write thank you notes to large donors and event hosts
  • Help organize and promote our monthly happy hour
  • Contact and collaborate with other local grassroots organizations

 

Have a good eye? We’re always looking for someone to take a few pics at our events.

Provide design assistance for email communication, website graphics and the occasional newsletter.

We are always looking for items for our annual Silent Auction fundraiser.  Can you help with one of the  following? Or something else you think might be fun?

  • Weekend at a vacation house or timeshare
  • Host a dinner party or fun event (at your house or the donor’s home)
  • Restaurant Gift Certificates
  • Movie, theater or sports tickets
  • Delivery of homemade breads, desserts, or other fun food
  • Professional services include landscape design,  personal training, or massage.
